A Day in Chicago

A Day in Chicago

On Saturday evening, my sister came in town and we surprised her with a trip to Chicago on Sunday! You can see us surprise her and her reaction in my most recent vlog here. We drove up early Sunday morning and our first stop was Holy Name Cathedral for mass. The church was absolutely breathtaking! Its history is so rich, it was a beautiful place to attend mass at. Next up, we went to Quartino Ristorante. Not only was the food amazing, but the restaurant was SO incredible. They had an upstairs bar with the coolest bathrooms. I know that’s such a weird thing to like, but you’ll have to see it for yourself! We ordered fettuccini Alfredo and a pizza – the fettuccini Alfredo was the best I’ve ever had. We also ate our weight in bread – everything was so good! Afterwards, we jumped on a Chicago Crime Tour, which was so much fun. It was a great way to see the city without having to worry about driving as well as the crime history of the city. We had the best guide named Anna who I highly recommend if you go – she is extremely knowledgeable and funny. We were able to get out and walk around where John Dillinger died as well as other unique places! After the tour, we walked a little ways down the Magnificent Mile and made our way to Sprinkles Cupcake ATM for a quick treat. Let me just say – this was probably the best cupcake I’ve ever had – they definitely don’t disappoint! After we picked up our cupcakes, we ubered over to the Bean and ate our cupcakes by the ice skating rink. We then made our way and took a million photos in front of the Bean – we couldn’t miss it because seeing it in real life was on my sister’s bucket list! By the time we were done there, we were so tired and ready to go home before it got too dark for the ride home!

We didn’t do too much in Chicago because we live so close, so hopefully we can make our way back for another visit this summer!

Have you ever been to Chicago? If so, what should we see there next time?
