A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

I’ve always been fascinated when people share small glimpses into their lives. I may be a bit nosy, but it’s also so interesting to see what someone else’s life is like day-to-day and I find it very relatable. Today I thought it would be fun to share what a day in my life is like.

I think I should preface this post with this:
Since moving to Indianapolis, my life has been really different. If you’ve been reading here for a while, you’d know that I was in school full time while working and interning part time. While working at my job, I was really invested into it and it took its toll on me big time, which I’ve never spoken about here. While doing all of these three together, I never had the time to do the activities that I loved and since then, I’ve really become burnt out on the idea of working a corporate job again. Gary and I talked on our honeymoon and decided that while we have no huge responsibilities right now, that I could stay home and do the things I love while pursuing my own dreams (which I’m hugely thankful for). Saying all of that, my main focus right now is this blog, working on refining our business ideas, and taking care of Gary and our new home. For me, this new way of life has been a complete answer to prayer because I have never been motivated by having a job – I am much more fulfilled by helping others and working with others, so this is my new life.

7 a.m. Gary wakes me up and I start the coffee, set out his breakfast (which sometimes ends up being a poptart), iron his clothes, and gather his lunch.

7:30-8 a.m. Gary leaves for work, I tidy the kitchen, and start my morning routine – I turn the kettle on, put my contacts in, wash my face, and make the bed.

8-8:15 a.m. I drink my tea while I do my daily readings and prayer, put in a load of laundry if needed, and brush my teeth.

8:15-9 a.m. I write out what I need to do for the day, go through emails, catch up on social media, and sit down to read.

9-12:30 p.m. I eat breakfast, write blog posts, comment on blogs, schedule my social media posts, plan upcoming posts, and take photos.

12:30-1:30 p.m. During this time, I usually eat lunch and watch an episode of tv or watch a YouTube video.

1:30-3:00 p.m. If I haven’t read in the morning, I like to fit it in here. I also fold and put away the laundry if we have any and clean the apartment if needed.

3-4:30 p.m. I go back to my desk and brainstorm post ideas, go through a few more blog posts and comment on them, or continue writing blog posts.

4:30-5 p.m. I start getting all the food set out and chopped (if needed) and start preparing for dinner.

5-6 p.m. I make dinner and Gary comes home.

6-11:30 p.m. We eat dinner, talk about our days, watch tv, go for a walk around the neighborhood, talk about business ideas, etc. and then I usually take a shower at some point, and then head to bed between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. (I know, I’m an old woman).

What does a day in your life look like?
