Instead of a traditional “skincare routine” post, I thought I’d change it up a bit and give you a rundown of what a week in skincare looks like for me. I started writing down what my skin was like and what products I was using in a diary entry-like way on the notes app on my phone. I hope you enjoy!
Monday, September 12: I’m seeing some hormonal breakouts beginning on my forehead and chin this morning. I decide to wash my face with Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser (that my doctor from my YoDerm consultation) on my scrublet with warm water at 8:30 a.m. Afterward, I applied Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. Around 1 p.m., I spritzed Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist to wake me up. At 11 p.m. I took a shower and washed my face with the Cerave cleanser because my face was feeling a bit grubby. Once out of the shower, I applied Josie Maran’s argan oil by patting it into the skin and then applied First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream on my neck.
Tuesday, September 13: I woke up this morning with super soft skin. At 8:30 a.m. I decided to fit in a workout, so I splashed my face with warm water to wake me up beforehand. Today I’m testing out a new product – Valentia Fresh Mist Calming Toner (more on this product later) – so I spritzed this on my face around 9 a.m. and then applied the Cetaphil moisturizer on top. Around 7 p.m. I took a shower and used my scrublet to work in the Cerave cleanser. At 10 p.m., I spritzed Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist on my face with the Cetaphil moisturizer on top and then the First Aid Beauty cream on my neck.
Wednesday, September 14: Woke up this morning with my face raging with breakouts that have surfaced. I washed my face with the Cerave cleanser and my scrublet at 7:45 a.m. I decided not to put anything else on my face for now so it can calm down. At around 10:15 a.m., my face started to feel tight so I applied Cetaphil moisturizer. At 2 p.m., I spritzed Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist on a clean beauty blender and dabbed it all over my face. At 2:30 my makeup is all on for the day. After we got home around 10 p.m., I removed my makeup with Boscia’s MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil. Once in the shower, I used my scrublet with the Cerave cleanser. My face is looking really red tonight with lots of breakouts surfacing. I’ve decided not to put anything on my face before bed and instead I’m going to let it breathe overnight.
Thursday, September 15: I woke up this morning with my face looking a lot less red and the breakouts seem to have subsided. At 8:30 a.m., I splashed my face with some warm water and decided not to apply anything for the time being. I took a shower after my workout at 9:30 a.m. and used Tarte’s Frxxxtion Stick to exfoliate my skin with my scrublet. After I washed away the exfoliator, I used my hands to rub in the Cerave cleanser. I let my face rest during the day and applied the Cetaphil moisturizer to my face at 10:20 p.m before bed.
Friday, September 16: I woke up this morning with my face looking a lot better. I splashed my face with warm water and then slathered my face in moisturizer. Around 1:30 p.m., I applied all my makeup. When we got home around 10:45 p.m., I took my makeup off with the Boscia cleanser before getting in the shower. I then washed my face with the Cerave cleanser and my scrublet. I opted to skip moisturizer tonight.
Saturday, September 17: I am being super lazy with my skincare today. It’s a rainy day so Gary and I decided to hang out indoors and get some things done around the apartment. While we are working on a few things, I applied the Tarte Frxxxtion stick all over my dry skin and used it as a mask. After ten minutes were up, I washed off the mask with some warm water and my scrublet. I applied moisturizer afterward. I took a shower at 10 p.m. and washed my face with the Cerave cleanser on my scrublet. Before bed, I applied moisturizer to my face.
Sunday, September 18: I woke up this morning and noticed my face has lost a lot of the redness it had towards the middle of last week. I splashed my face with cold water this morning and applied moisturizer before I applied my makeup. I removed all of my makeup with the Boscia cleansing oil and then once in the shower, I used my scrublet with the Cerave cleanser. Before bed, I patted Tarte’s Maracuja oil into my skin.
As you can see, there are a few products that I use every day and some that I rotate in and out depending on how I’m feeling. I hope you enjoyed this post!
