I went into Sephora a few weeks ago because I was completely out of my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and once I was at the store, I noticed that Nars had renamed all of the foundations and I couldn’t find my usual shade. Bummer! I was feeling slightly ambitious, so when I spotted Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, I thought I’d give it a try instead.
This foundation’s goal is to provide natural-looking coverage that’s lightweight and long wear. The product is very liquid-y, so it needs to be shaken up really well before use. Because of this, a little foundation goes a long way, so I usually just use a pump and a half for both my face and my neck. Although Nars says to apply the foundation with fingers, I found that it can be easily blended into the skin with a brush like Real Technique’s stippling brush and a beauty blender.
One of the great things about this foundation is that it’s build-able. For a daytime look, I just do a pump and a half, but for a night out, I would probably do two pumps and make the skin look flawless.
Another feature of this product is that you must start blending quickly because the product dries quickly. I find that it’s easiest to focus on one side of the face first, then move on to the other. That way, the foundation can really be blended into the skin.
The most noticeable feature of this foundation is that it truly does feel lightweight on the skin. The majority of foundations I’ve tried over the years have been really heavy on my face. I don’t even feel this foundation on my skin at all.
Longevity wise, I think that everyone’s skin is different, so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how long this foundation will last. On my skin, this product lasts pretty much a solid 12 hours with touchups.
Overall, I really love this foundation and found that it has easily become my go-to.
Have you tried this foundation?
