I think everyone can agree that hot chocolate during the winter months is a must-have drink. It seems like ever year Gary and I indulge in hot chocolate quite frequently when the weather is cold, so today, I thought why not share our favorite hot chocolate recipe with you!
*Our best friends have made this hot chocolate for us, so when we moved, I asked if we could have the recipe to make it. We have no idea of the recipe’s original source.
What you’ll need:
-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-1/3 cup hot water
-1/8 tablespoon salt
-4 cups milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine the cocoa powder, sugar, water, and salt in a medium saucepan. Over medium heat, stir constantly until the mixture boils. Cook, stirring constantly for one minute. Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil. Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. Top with marshmallows. Serve immediately.
