Welcome back to my blogging series on starting a lifestyle blog! If you haven’t read the first two, you can read part 1 here and part 2 here. We’re going to talk about what you need to do after your blog is up and running.
01. Write an “about me” page – This is pertinent that you write an “about me” as soon as possible. Everyone who reads your blog wants to see who’s writing to them! When writing your “about me” page, think about what you want your readers to know about you. Do you want them to know that you’re in college? That you have a bachelor’s degree? That you love long walks on the beach? Whatever it may be, make sure it’s written clearly for them to read. Another important aspect to include in your “about me” is what your readers can find on your site. For example, my “about me” states: “here you’ll find my thoughts on various subjects, product reviews, and insights into my life.” This simple statement tells my readers what I’ll be writing about.
02. Spread the news – After your blog is running on its own and your readers know what they can expect from you, now is the time to spread the news about your blog! Hop on your social media accounts and tell all your followers that your blog is live.
03. Start an email list – A very important step starting your blog is starting an email list. Unfortunately, I didn’t start mine when I first launched my blog and my list suffered because of it. I highly encourage you to start one right away! There are many ways to build an email list – you can check out some of the ideas I’ve collected on my blogging Pinterest board here.
I hope this has helped some of you in launching your lifestyle blog! Thanks for reading!
