The 6 Products You Need to Take on Your Next Tropical Vacation

DSC02309Being as Gary and I are still in the midst of our honeymoon, I thought that I’d write a post about what products I’ve been using while on vacation and what I think you should bring on yours!

First of all, I think it’s fair to say that I’ve hardly worn makeup at all so far on our trip. I’ve only worn makeup 3 times out of the last 17 days. I brought WAY too many products, so today I thought I’d let you know what you should bring on your next tropical vacation.

A light base. The first product I’d bring would be a light base. After being out in the sun all day, you won’t want to cover up your new tan, so I suggest something that will look like your skin, but better. I’ve been trying out Clinique’s chubby in the nude foundation stick and have found it looks so natural once blended in. I really like to blend it in with a damp beauty blender. I also liked to use the stick for contouring before I got my sun kissed glow from Hawaii!

BB Cream. If you go out during the day and don’t want to hassle with blending in a base, I suggest bringing along a BB cream that you can rub in with your hands. One with SPF is even better. I’ve been using Covergirl’s cgsmoothers BB cream for those lazy days when I can’t be bothered to put makeup on, but don’t want to go bare-faced.

Concealer. For the nights that you spend out, I suggest using a concealer that’s really brightening under the eyes. I really like Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer and as always, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

A cheek stain. I’ve been using cheek stains during this warmer weather because I’m currently loving a glowy look. I love the ease at which I can use cheek stains – they are so easy to apply and all you need are your fingers or a beauty blender! I recommend Tarte’s cheek stains as they are really long lasting and leave a really nice stain of color on the cheeks.

Highlighter. Going with the above mentioned glowy look, a highlighter is perfect to complete the look. I’m really enjoying cream-based products at the moment (if it isn’t obvious already), so I would recommend Benefit’s Watt’s Up highlighter.

Waterproof Mascara. The last product you need is a waterproof mascara. I really like to wear it even when I’m just going to the beach as it makes it me feel a little bit more put together. I’ve been using Maybelline’s the Rocket for years and love it!
