I’m a very nosy person, so when I see a “my nightly skin routine” or a “what’s in my bag” post, my ears automatically perk up. Today, I thought it would be fun if I showed you all that I keep on my nightstand.
First off, let me tell you a little bit about my nightstand. I was looking for something gold and marble, which I thought would be fairly to easy to find considering gold and marble are popular right now. I was wrong. Everything I found was really expensive! I wasn’t about to fork over hundreds of dollars for a nightstand because I wanted to buy 2 – one for me, one for Gary. However, I was on Target’s website one day just mindlessly scrolling through their accent tables and found this one. They were exactly what I was looking for! I was a little nervous they would be too small, but they worked out great.
I keep a little gold hexagon-shaped plate on my nightstand that I registered for on Zola for our wedding thinking it was a large serving platter, but that’s not what it turned out to be, so I put it on my nightstand (in my defense, its description says that it’s a serving platter!). If I could give one piece of advice for registering for a wedding, it would be to make sure the dimensions match up to what you are wanting!
On the gold plate, I keep an eye mask, chapstick, and a hair tie. Our apartment is very bright in the morning and I’m waiting for my family to visit next week so my dad can install our curtains, so I’ve been using this eye mask to shield the sun from my eyes in the morning. I like to have a chapstick nearby so I can use it right before I go to bed especially in the winter because my lips get so dry. Lastly, I have a hair tie on my nightstand because I put my hair up right when I wake up so I can wash my face and apply moisturizer first thing.
One of the most special items I own, but one that also sits on my nightstand is a ring holder Gary bought me after we got engaged. It’s the best reminder that I see every day when I put my rings on.
I also keep a few books on my nightstand because I like to read in the morning after Gary has gone to work (I can’t read in bed at night right now because we are still sans lamps). I’m currently in the middle of three books – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (after all this time? always.), a travel book by Lonely Planet (I’m not disclosing the location yet because we don’t have anything set in stone right now, but are aiming to travel early 2017), and Life-Giving Love by Kimberly Hahn.
The last item I keep on my nightstand is Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist, which I’ve mentioned before in this post. I like to give a good spritz of extra moisture to my face at night before I go to bed.
I’m curious.. what do you keep on your nightstand?
